A Lonely Trail- Neko Mansion

I will go look for them. You just stay there. He walks out. He walks down the sidewalks searching and then sees Emma lying on the ground. She looked eerily still. I rush over and kneel beside her. Emma felt cold like the hard ground. I pick her up and notice that Matt is laying a few feet away. I hold Emma close to me and start running to the hospital. Matt could die there on the ground for all I cared. Once I reached the hospital, I passed Jacob's room as I tried to find a doctor to help.

Jacob: I see you pass and start to freak out

Jev
Once I get a doctor I answer his questions and watch as Emma is taken away. That is when my panic really set in, but I went back to Jacob's room. It was at that point I didn't know what to tell him.

Jacob: jev what in the world is going on? Please tell me I was hallucinating and that that wasn't Emma's limp body you just carried past

Jev
It was her. I found Emma lying on the sidewalk not moving...

Jacob: *whispers* no......*looks at Jeb* she isn't dead is she?!

Jev
I was quite for a second thinking about Emma cold and limp in my arms. I thought I had felt her breathe very lightly a few times in my rush to get her help. I said only halfway sure I don't think she was dead.

Jacob: I have a horrible feeling about this *looks away*

A little while later...
A nurse
I see Jev in Jacob's room and walk in. Sir, there is information on Mrs. Ireo. When Jev looked at me, there was a look of worry that compelled me to go on immediately. We ran a blood test on Mrs. Ireo and found pathogens that only hospitals have access to. They could be potentially life threatening to her. She also seemed to have suffered a blow to the back of her head resulting in a concusion. Her body's response to all of this was to slip into a coma.

Jacob: *clenches my jaw together tightly and looks at the ceiling*

The nurse
You can go see her if you wish, sir. She is in room 5. With that I walked out.

Jev
I look at the floor and get a sudden feeling that I couldn't go see her. Seeing her lying there still would seem far too close to looking at Emma's dead body. We had thought Emma was dead before but she just came back.

Jacob: *points at the wheelchair* help me into that thing please

Jev
I easily helped Jacob into the wheelchair.

Thanks.....now....I need to see her.....I understand if you don't want to see her like she is, if not just wheel me to her door please

Jev
I nod and push Jacob to Emma's room. I hesitate at the door. If I hadn't been told otherwise, I would have thought Emma was dead. Emma was pale and fragile looking in the light.

Jacob: *turns really pale at the sight of emma and sighs* I have a feeling our luck has run out *holds her limp hand*

Jev
I walked away from the doorway where I stood. I couldn't take this. Emma may never wake up from her coma.

Jacob: *gives her hand a gentle squeeze and whispers* Emma I love you.

Emma
I heard his words echo in my head. My body felt heavy and numb to me, but I managed to ever so slightly tighten my hand in his. Doctors would say it was only a muscle spasm but it was all I could manage.

Jacob: *kisses her hand and lays my head on the bed*

Awhile later...

A nurse
I walk in to check on Emma and see Jacob. I softly ask, Are you okay, sir?

Jacob: *still has Emma's hand in his own* yeah.....just worried

The nurse
I nod. My husband was in a coma not too long ago, so I know what you mean.

Jacob: was? I'm assuming that means he came out of it?
