Keynai walks to Katie. He grins, picks her up, then drops her into the water. After, he jumps in as well.

Katie: I surface laughing. When Keynai surfaces, I splash him.

Abbie: they are just so.....annoying and weird and gross and disturbing and rude and they all seem to love me but I sure as heck don't love them

Zane: I smile amusedly. I am not particularly fond of little kids, though my little sister is a bit of an exception to that.

Katie: I duck underwater and swim a few feet away. I pick up a ball and throw it at him.

Katie: I catch the ball and quickly pick up two more. I throw them at him, one after the other.

Keynai starts laughing, which soon turns into choked sobs. Memories from his past come flooding back. How can I laugh after all of it? He covers his face with his hands before Katie can see the tears. He hadn't cried in all of the years he'd been abused, hurt, and on the streets. And here in front of her, of all places. He tries desperately to get ahold of himself but can't.

Katie: I gently put a hand on his shoulder. Keynai had hidden his face but I knew he was crying. All I wanted to do was make him feel better.
